Gifts for a baby bulldog

I got to sew last night and here is the result:

There is a couple at church that is having their first baby-a boy-next month. They both attended the University of Georgia (like my husband) and are big Bulldog fans! I made the burp cloths and drool bib using the directions/pattern from Chickpea Sewing Studio. They turned out so nice, although if I were to do the bib over again, I would use flannel for a backing instead of a towel. I just didn't like how it turned out, but it will work the way it is.
I made these cloth shoes using Michele's pattern and directions from her blog. I think I got the Georgia Bulldog appliques from the UGA bookstore several years ago, but honestly can't remember now! I had purchased them with hopes to add them to some polar fleece pullovers I made for Trent and Ben, but never got around to it! I purchased the UGA fabric from my local Hancock's.

I hope to make their baby one more thing-a nice outfit for church. It has the cutest little dog buttons, but not bulldogs! I hope to finish it by the end of the week so I can give it to them on Sunday. Of course if it turns out really well, then I will keep it and enter it in the fair then give it to them when the fair is over. It won't fit their son until next year at the earliest and so it's not like he'll outgrow it between the time he's born and the fair which is a month after he's due. I have done this several times in the past. They get a new outfit for their baby and I get something to enter in the fair. It's a win-win situation!
